Repurposing Aviation Materials

Plaswire | Aviation | Solutions

Aviation Industry

At Plaswire, our innovative recycling process can repurpose 100% of the aircraft materials and turn them into a sustainable product that can replace wood, concrete and hard plastics – significantly reducing the carbon footprint for the aviation industry.

Within the aviation industry, there is a strong focus on minimising carbon impact, with considerable research being conducted to understand how much environmental impact is made by an aircraft during its life cycle.

From manufacture to refurbishing and decommissioning.

During the manufacturing process, various polymer wastes such as plastics and composite materials are generated. These materials contribute to the overall carbon footprint of the aviation industry.

Sustainability

We help our clients reduce their carbon footprint and work towards a net zero future.

Processing

We are experts in construction, waste, plastics recycling and manufacturing processes.

Innovating

We are innovating in sectors such as wind and aviation to solve waste disposal problems.

Repurposing Waste
from Aircraft

Aircrafts are typically refurbished every 3-15 years to keep up with changing standards and technology. As technology continues to evolve, aircraft are decommissioned and it is estimated that 11,000 aircrafts will be retired over the next decade.

This is where Plaswire PX Polymer comes in and plays a crucial role.
The RX Polymer provides a sustainable solution that repurposes both the polymers from the interior of the aircraft as well as the carbon fibre used in the airframe. Rather than being discarded or incinerated, these materials are given a second life, thus preventing the release of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) emissions.

Reducing Aviation Carbon Footprint

By reusing these materials, the aviation industry will be able to reduce its overall carbon footprint by decreasing the need for virgin raw materials. This innovative approach aligns with the industry commitment to sustainability and represents a more environmentally friendly aviation sector.
